Alzheimer’s Association International Conference® Neuroscience Next, Barcelona Feb. 24-27, 2025

Abstract: Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder marked by a prodromal or early stage characterized by Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). While not all individuals with MCI progress to AD, those with amnestic MCI (aMCI) are at a heightened risk. The ‘microbiota-gut-brain axis’ (MGBA), a bidirectional communication pathway between the gut and the brain, has recently gained attention as a potential contributor to AD onset.
Reliability and Validity of the Frontal Assessment Battery in Spanish Alzheimer’s Population
Carrión N, Marco M, Cabrera C, Heredia L, Torrente M
Abstract: The decline in executive functions and episodic memory are hallmark signs of Alzheimer’s disease, significantly affecting patients’ ability to interact with their environment. The Frontal Assessment Battery (FAB), developed by Dubois et al. (2000), assesses executive functions through six subtests targeting processes focused on frontal lobes processes. However, the psychometric properties of the FAB for Spanish AD populations remain unstudied.
